Участники саммита ЕС – Турция не достигли компромисса по ситуации на Кипре и в Сирии. Об этом заявил в понедельник председатель Европейского совета Дональд Туск на пресс-конференции по итогам саммита.
«Нет, мы не достигли конкретных компромиссных решений сегодня, – сказал он. – Добавлю, что прогресс по вступлению Турции [в ЕС] возможен только после разрешения этих вопросов».
В то же время Туск высказался за продолжение политического диалога с Турцией, подчеркнув, что Анкара остается важным партнером Брюсселя.
Туск повторил, что ЕС озвучил на саммите свои озабоченности по операции в сирийском Африне, по конфликту между Турцией с одной стороны и Кипром, Грецией и Италией с другой вокруг добычи газа на шельфе Кипра, по задержанию Турцией двух греческих пограничников, а также по проблеме отмены антитеррористических законов, которые, по мнению Брюсселя, нарушают права человека.
